A unique opportunity to learn green woodwork skills and deepen your connection with nature. Create beautiful and practical objects, forage for wild food plants, make charcoal, build and cook with outdoor fires and ovens. Reenergise, unwind and nourish your creativity, letting the earth stimulate and sustain you within a beautiful setting.

The Setting

Os Figueiros, ‘the house of figs’ is an historic bastide farmhouse. An exceptional venue with its old world charm; an enchanting interior courtyard and balcony, large gardens and orchard. You will feel sheltered and far away from the stresses and strains of modern day living.

Under the expert tuition and support of Phil Harwin you will be shown the techniques to work safely using a variety of traditional hand tools making spoons, knives and forks, carve cups and bowls and make simple stools or learn how to sculpture a beautiful and practical walking stick.
